GlobeTel Communications Corp. (OTCBB:GTEL), today announced the launch of MagicPhone Beta
Program, the latest VoIP product that GlobeTel has added to its growing line of
international, value added IP products and services.
GlobeTel will pick 200 hundred Beta Customers from applications provided at the following
link http://www.GlobeTel.net/magicphone/.
These 200 Beta Customers will receive 500 free calling minutes anywhere in the Continental
United States. All calls after the first 500 free minutes will be billed at 2.5 cents per
minute and International calls will be billed at the GlobeTel wholesale rates which will
be posted on the MagicPhone website http://magicphone.GlobeTel.net. The customers will
have to purchase an IP adapter that connects to their Internet service for a one time
charge of $79, with a 90-day money back guarantee. After the Beta Program has finished,
different plans will be made available for purchase on the MagicPhone website.
The service is based on a sophisticated
IP adapter and standard telephone that interfaces with the users' Internet service. The IP
adapter is paired with a standard local telephone number and a GlobeTel MagicPhone number.
Once connected, the calls are routed to GlobeTel's high-quality IP gateways, which will
terminate the calls anywhere in the world. Likewise, incoming calls will be routed through
the GlobeTel IP gateways, therefore the customers will be able to receive calls,
regardless of where they are as long as MagicPhone is connected.
The MagicPhone program allows the
customers to:
-- Make free calls to other GlobeTel
MagicPhone customers, wherever they may be;
-- Avail of lowest available rates for
calls to non-MagicPhone users to anywhere in the world;
-- Bring the MagicPhone IP adapter
wherever they travel;
-- Use the MagicPhone as the fixed phone,
at home or at the office;
-- Review real-time billing on the
GlobeTel MagicPhone website.
GlobeTel will also be rolling out, in
February, soft phones that customers may load onto their computer for analog dial-up users
and a multi-line MagicPhone IP Box for business users.
Timothy Huff CEO of GlobeTel stated:
"This is the first of many products and services in the IP marketplace that we will
launch this year. We feel it is important to balance our wholesale carrier business with
retail customers. Our ability to offer this service world wide with connections to our
network Points of Presence (POPs) globally, gives our service quality advantages over
players in this market sector. This product will continue to be enhanced over the next
several months with new features and services. The IP marketplace has finally reached the
level where high quality and cost will start to eat away at the existing, traditional
voice provider's customer base."
